Some historical facts about Alanya

Turkey is a vast country with beautiful resort areas, where citizens of many countries of the European Union, Asia, and the post-Soviet space prefer to relax. One of the most visited regions in Alanya. The history of the city of Alanya has its roots in the 2nd century BC, when smugglers and pirates who fled from Greece found their refuge within its walls, instilling fear in all the shipping of the Mediterranean Sea. In 67 BC, the Roman Senate armed several dozen soldiers who entered into a decisive battle with the sea robbers. Subsequently, the city was part of Byzantium for a millennium, was subjected to Arab raids, was repeatedly renamed, and in 1471 became part of the Ottoman Empire.

The long history of Alanya has left indelible marks in the city's architecture and presented unique medieval sights.

The nature of this region is no less beautiful: the Taurus Mountains, fast mountain rivers, gorgeous canyons, plantations of fruit trees, warm coast. The average annual air temperature rarely drops below 20ºС. A variety of entertainment allows every tourist to find a suitable activity for himself: sunbathing on the municipal beach, plunging into the depths of the sea, making an exciting voyage to pirate places, going fishing, becoming a participant in a festival or holiday that often held in front of the administration building.

Brief description of the city

The city center of Alanya has a developed infrastructure. Predominantly here, buildings of old buildings predominate, in which offices, shops, pharmacies, banks, beauty salons, and residential apartments are located. Foreign tourists prefer to stay in hotels, making reservations for rooms in hotel complexes in less noisy areas of Alanya. Little tourists will love the large green park located here, and their parents will enjoy the loud conversation with the traders of the colorful Grand Bazaar and relax on the beach near the Shipyard. Having climbed the mountain, you can rent or buy a luxury villa with a stunning view from the window.

In the west, numerous modern residential complexes are gradually replacing low-rise buildings, so you can quickly and inexpensively rent a house for a couple of weeks or buy property. This area is famous for Cleopatra's beach, awarded the Blue Flag award for its golden sand and clear waters. The beach is visited annually by millions of tourists; it is equipped with comfortable sun loungers, a playground, umbrellas, and toilets. It is easy to get to the water park, the Damlatas Cave, and the Red Tower from the observation deck offers a gorgeous panoramic view of the rocky slopes of the mountains and green hills.

Adjacent to the foot of the mountains, the northern part of the city is separated from the center by a ring road. Given the great distance from the sea, tourists are rarely found in this sector, but beautiful landscapes will appear before their eyes if they want to climb the mountain. The East is distinguished by a developed infrastructure, numerous hotels of different classes, and a large number of well-equipped children's entertainment areas.
