Do Ukrainians need a visa to Bali?

Bali is a beautiful paradise island whose energy changes a person's consciousness and worldview, forcing them to reconsider their values and life. Incredible beaches, surfing, warm climate, healthy food, an abundance of cheap fruits, ancient landmarks, cultural heritage make Indonesia a dream of many tourists and immigrants. This is an ideal place for relaxation and a measured life.

If Ukrainians have access to a visa-free regime to enter many countries, then in the case of Bali, our compatriots will have to obtain a visa to travel to the island.

These rules apply to many countries and we recommend that you check this information in advance before planning your trip.

Most often, tourists apply for a visa upon arrival directly at the airport (Visa on Arrival or VoA): this option is not always convenient because it takes a lot of time. It is better to save your nerves and apply for it online in advance.

How to get a visa to Indonesia?

A visa on arrival can be obtained at a special counter at the airport. You fill out an application form, provide a valid passport, show a return ticket home or to another country, and pay a $35 fee or 500,000 Indonesian rupiah. After checking the document and paying the fee, you are issued a visa for 30 days (it can be extended for another 30 days, and after the expiration you must leave the country).

If you don’t want to stand in line, you can pay for the document online using a special electronic service.

Depending on the purpose of your trip, there are several types of visas to enter Indonesia that you need to obtain before traveling.

The advantage of this document is that as soon as the term ends, you leave the country, but you have the right to return at any time and the countdown will start over. There are several variants of KITAS:

  • for freelancers - for 53 separate professions without the need to find an official employer ($600 + $1000 registration);
  • KITAS pension for people over 55 years old, can be issued for 5 years, but it must be renewed annually and paid $1000;

  • student: issued for a year, but to do this you need to show documents confirming your acceptance to an educational institution ($500 and $150 for registration).

What package of documents is required to apply for KITOS? Before applying to the consulate, take with you 6 photos (2*3 cm, 4*6 cm, 3*4 cm) on a red background, a valid passport (at least 18 months), medical insurance for 1 year, documents confirming your place of residence on the island, a diploma (for freelancers) and a completed application form. This is a basic package, the contents of which may vary depending on the type of KITAS you choose.

  • “Golden Visa” - can be obtained by investing in state assets from $350,000;
